BGMI BAN 2025 EXPLAIN

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the popular battle royale game developed by Krafton, is once again under scrutiny in India due to serious allegations concerning unauthorized data sharing. An FIR (First Information Report) has been filed against Krafton India, accusing the company of selling user data without consent. This development has raised concerns about the potential for another ban on the game in the country.

Background of BGMI in India

BGMI was launched as a tailored version of PUBG Mobile after the latter was banned in India in 2020 over data privacy and national security concerns. The rebranded game aimed to address these issues by complying with local regulations and ensuring data security. However, despite these efforts, BGMI faced a ban in July 2022 due to ongoing data security concerns, with allegations that user data was being transmitted to servers in China.
